Yeah, the band sounded surprised by the tour and as you can see It's quite short notice ... I don't know if there's going to be any continental dates either side of these. I get the feeling It's been given to them out of the blue.

Please plug this wherever you can - Myspace bullitens, other forums etc..  Twisted Evil

SpookySam

The booking guy was supposed to get back to me bout Blitzkid & the hellnights tour, hmmmmmmm
MonsterMash

I think we'll definitely be at the Peterborough one, can't make Stoke due to Rebellion (even though it's nearer - gah!).
Tommy Creep

This should be badass.

Now we need to get the Crimson Ghosts and Calabrese to the UK...
Deathbed

whos actual going to stoke!?!?!
doc_horror

aww i'm away all that week too...
doc_horror

now were technikly a fiendforce band... maybe we can get em to book more stuff in the UK!
MonsterMash

Well the show on the 10th turned out to be at Rebellion, so we saw them there and won't be going to Peterborough....

I've done a sort of review/rambling anecdote in my post about Rebellion. Smile

Anyone go to the other gigs and care to share it with us?

Would have gone to Stoke but had tickets for Rev Horton Heat in B'ham (which also clashed with Trashstock in Notts which I also had tickets for due the The Rev changing his date (!!!), the ticket prices for rebellion were a joke for the few bands I wanted to see, Peterboro was just too far and London would have cost train tickets, hotel and days off work.

I was doomed for this tour before it even started  Evil or Very Mad !

I thought the ticket prices for Rebellion were really good - £75 for 4 days of music?  What do things like Reading or Download cost?  Twice as much for one less day?  Rebellion is a punk festival though & SR were never going to draw a huge crowd, but I don't think you can critiscise Rebellion for not having enough bands on that fit the specific genre you like to justify the ticket price Confused

& I'm sorry, but there's always people on here whinging about the lack of gigs in the UK & then when some come up you're whinging they're in the wrong places?

If you don't support the scene bands won't tour, simple as
MonsterMash

Yes Rebellion isn't really about paying to see one band, it's about seeing lots of bands you wouldn't normally see play to a lot of people who actually give two shits about punk music.

I guess SR went on the bill because as it was a festival slot, they hoped they'd get more interest from casual observers rather than just playing to a few die-hards who already own all their albums.

Maybe it didn't pay off but maybe a few people in the crowd went out and bought a CD as a result.

I think one of the main problems with SR doing Rebellion is that even for a horror band they're pretty obscure.

Yeah they're on Fiendforce but they don't have the exposure of (say) The Other or Rezurex or Blitzkid or someone like that.  Those bands are still pretty cult but they do have people who know of them outside the horror scene.  Christ, I reckon Zombina would have been more familiar to punters at Rebellion than SR and probably been better suited on the bill, too.

And while SR do play horror music, there's more of a metal element to what they do than many horrorpunk bands - and with the uniforms and the long hair, they have more of a Gothic than a punk image.

I do kind of think that if a pure horrorpunk band had been on the bill, more people would have gone to check them out.  As it was, to most people they were just some American Goths in Nazi uniforms...

As I said in my review - I'm really glad they were on the bill and we got to see them and had a great time.  And you can't really blame the band for taking a chance on something like Rebellion, even if it didn't pay off - and who are we to say it didn't?
Tommy Creep

London was ace even though the set wasn't that long, there weren't many people and one had to endure Spit Like This supporting.  Very Happy

Glam metal.

Could be worse but they're kind of like Towers of London - not in sound terms, just in that they're a pretty average band who walk around like they shit rock 'n' roll and piss awesomeness... when clearly they don't.

Plus they do that hideous "Smell Your Mum" t-shirt company which makes all those t-shirts with things like "Buffy the Chav Slayer" and "I'm So Goth I Murder Townies and Drink Their Blood" on them.

It all just seems so unnecessary... Rolling Eyes

Sorry, I was referring to the £30 1 day ticket to see the only band (SR) I
was interested in....

I would have gone to the Stoke gig if SR or the promoter had published the dates BEFORE I'd bought Trashstock tickets and then IF the RHH hadn't swapped his date so I was TRIPLE BOOKED on that Saturday. I lost money on the Trashstock tickets (which meant I was supporting alot of independent bands if I'd have gone - and had a room booked). As explained Peterboro and London in the week were just too far. Apologies
for not attending but I'm think I'm justified - don't worry I feel gutted!!

Ok, fair enough, I just get a lot annoyed when people complain that there aren't enough gigs/they're too far away/the band didn't play in my back yard etc... Wink  then complain there's no scene - I'm not talking about you specifically here, or anyone in particular, its just a general thing - I read a really good post on another board I think I'm going to steal & put up, possibly one of the most intelligent things ever posted on a message board  Shocked  Laughing

Personally I was glad we didn't have to go to Stoke or Peterboro Cool   It essentially saved us money  Razz

I just looked up trashstock - I'm surprised I didn't hear about it, its only down the road from us.  Patchwork Grace were the only one I've heard of, they're pretty good.  £10 was a damn good price for a weekend ticket - hope they did alright out of it
MonsterMash

Haha, I posted a big rant about Spit Like This and their t-shirts but I guess it isn't really "on topic" for this thread and I don't want to hijack it...

So... anyone else see Shadow Reichenstein play?  Who else supported them - anyone worth checking out?

Yeah. I took a measured decision - RHH nevers plays much out of London
and it was good to support them on a non-London gig so they may do it again. The Academy 2 was about 60% full I think.

I also have bad luck when I book holidays abroad - last year I missed H.U.G and this year (so far) I'll be missing Skintight Jaguars in B'ham.... Twisted Evil
