BLITZKID IN THE UKohhh yea baby, Blitzkid are playing in the summer and Cal' is stoked!According to their myspace, there playin: Satans Hollow (manchester) on the 13th of June. After googling it, it seems that The Ruined (boo) are opeing for em, but the've got a few more dates on their myspace such as: THE UNDERWORLD, CAMDEN, London: 10th CLUB REVOLUTION, PETERBOROUGH: 11th THE STEREO, GLASGOW: 12th I'm still lookin forward to the gig tho, I'm defo gonna be at the Manchester gig, so if anyone decided to venture up to my horrible little part of the uk, be sure to say 'ola! (now lets all go poke the skeletones to get them to open for blitzkid XD ) |

Cal's just not a fan. I saw em when they playedroadkill in liverpool a few years back and i wasnt that impressed. I know there are loads of ppl out that who like their stuff, and im cool with that, i just rly didnt get into the vibe..... and if cal remebers... neither did any one else at that gig. everyone just stood there and watched the bands, no one danced or got into it. |

Fair play then man. I personally love their stuff, but I agree that maybe they don't suit Blitzkid a huge amount. I mean I love both bands, but The Ruined are certainly quite a bit heavier, and might not appeal to exclusive fans of Blitzkid. | ||

i was talking to Stripe (Kreepers) at Bedlam, he was saying theres been some changes to visa laws or something which are gonna make it a lot harder for US bands to get into the UK and play.
... so yeah, it's a big risk now. how far along is the organisation for the Manchester thing, Doc? are all those bands confirmed? if it goes ahead, it will be awesome. personally id go even if Blitzkid werent involved and it was just ZATS headlining... |

all i can ascertain so far is that as the MySpace gives Manchester as the location of the profile holder... so i'm assuming it's the Manchester Blitzkid date, which would be 13th June at Satan's Hollow. i dunno who the promoter is or what bands are confirmed, i'm not even 100% sure who is in the lineup?! i'm all for a bit of mystery sometimes but it can go too far. i've messaged whoever has done the MySpace asking for some more info and offering help with flyering and stuff if they want it. the Blitzkid dates Cal posted are accurate, like he says they are on their MySpace, so the only thing stopping them happening (whoever supports) would be if they can't get in the country. one would hope they have visa details all sorted but as i have heard of bands getting their paperwork finalised only the night before they fly out (and not through their own fault, it's just a nightmare to arrange) i'm always a bit wary now every time i hear of a US band undertaking to play dates in the UK. |

I've messaged the myspace too, no reply. A few of the bands banners they got on there are kids bands that I wouldn't trust to show up after past experiences.
I don't hold out much hope for this. Good idea tho. |

No reply for me yet either. tbh i had assumed about half the bands on there weren't gonna play, they were just getting some free advertising... thats cos theres like no definitie information on there though, just a bunch of banners. like i said, i'm all for a little mystery but i'd like to see a flyer-type thing with a lineup and a date and location on. are we both just being old and cynical (or young and cynical in your case, Sam)?

I would of thought they'd be more on the ball. If someone's attempting something like that they're leaving it pretty late to have NO details out there! And nothing about it on the ZATS page.
Maybe I am cynical, just my experience of attempting to book horror bands in the pass. Seems unlikely they can all get their dads to drive em to the same place at the same time

Eh? No it'll be fine. I'm anticipating a couple of bands flaking out due to sods law, but ZATS, Ruined and Blitzkid is very definite. I didn't want to post the details 'til details were postable (funny stuff with venues)... but i can now confirm that it's June 14th (not 13th) at The Ruby Lounge, Manchester!
Trust me, I'm one of those people who claim to be doctors but clearly aren't... |
