I got into the scene through checking out Antidote Records' online sampler, because I wanted to check out Graveyard Boulevard. It had Shadow Reichenstein, Blitzkid, Calabrese, The Deathriders, Eerie Ln., The Everdead and Fink on it.

My older friend gave me copies of Earth A.D, Legacy Of Brutallity & Walk Among us when I was around 12 years old. I instantly fell in love with the Misfits (this was around the time Famous Monsters came out) so I went out and bought more of their albums. I followed them closely and when they broke up I began listening to Graves, which lead me in the direction of other horror bands.
Around 2000 I bought a "People Like You Records" sampler which included Bride Of Frankenstein by FDQ, this led to me tracking down their albums that summer. Amazing times.
My dad used to play me Alice Cooper/Black Sabbath/Iron Maiden albums as a kid so this got me into the whole darker side of music.

im probably the only person on here old enough to actually say misfits, old misfits that is, pre reunion.

i got into a few selected tracks in my teens while getting into punk music, misfits just seemed to be saying exactly what i wanted to hear. once i was hooked i was overjoyed to hear about the reunion and even though it wasnt danzig i still liked it because it was aggressive.

Well i got into Ramones, and after that i started listening to more punk. After a while i needed a different sound, and my mate Vicky got me into rockabilly stuff. Then i went out on my own and discovered other bands that are clssed in the horror genre i.e Zombilly , Zombina & the skeletones, Eva Braun, horrorpops (thanks to vans off the wall compilation nuber Cool

I just love this shit big time. I'd rather switch on old tunes than listen to pop shit being spewed out of beazlebub's corporate arsehole. Kids need to get switched onto the music we all like. I guarantee you, gun crime will cut down, and rather than hoodies in the headlines, it'll be zombies.

IMAGINE THAT?!

i'd read a lot about the misfits and so when ready to take the plunge away from just listening to classic rock/metal i did a little bit of illegal download sampling of some famous monsters stuff, liked it, bought it, then moved onto some danzig shiz... then my friend made me listen to murderdolls, which after repeated listens i realised that just cos it had someone from slipknot in it didnt mean it was gonna be shouty metal, after just listening to fdq and the misfits for ages i got the fiendforce records compilation and was hooked...great days, i even had a short lived horror punk garage band for about a month (worst band ever)

I started listening to AFI when I first got into punk, then started hanging out with a guy really into horrorpunk when I was 15, and he made me what is still my favorite mixtape, with the misfits, bliztkid, mr. monster, son of sam, the everdead, mourning noise and balzac on it.

Long sentence!

I got into it by accident. I heard Nekromantix and started looking for other psychobilly bands, then I found horrorpunk mixed with the psychobilly.

So I got some horrorpunk samplers and now I'm getting as much horrorpunk as I can ha ha.

Nim Vind yo. Nim Vind. Goodtimes.

Raised on Alice Cooper, Matalica, Aerosmith, Soundgarden.
Started listening to Marilyn Manson in 1997, and was listening to AFI, Slipknot, The Cure, Jack off Jill, My Ruin,
Heard about the Murderdolls as Manson was going to be in the video for "Dead in Hollywood" so checked out FDQ, went to evey Murderdolls tour and subsiquently every Wednesday 13 tour, then started listening to Misfits (Famous Monsters), Horrorpops, Graveyard Boulevard, Zombina and the Skeletones.
And the rest they say is history

My lovely Doc Von Bracken got me out of chaviness and introduced me to lots of amazing music. Started on Tiger Army and Nekromantix, and I discovered Horrorpops all by myself. All of which are actually in my car cd player. Lol I steal all the docs stuff
