so, we all like horror bands, that's a given.  but what else do we like?  what other types of music do you listen to when you aren't listening to horror bands?

i like psychobilly, in fact, although i still think of myself as a punk i go to more psycho gigs than anything else.  i love Demented Are Go, Mad Sin, Batmobile, Coffin Nails, the Meteors, The Quakes, Rezurex... i'll give any psycho band a try.

i also listen to "regular" punk - Dead Kennedys, Exploited, Suicidal Tendencies, GBH, Rancid etc, and i love 80s hardcore like Black Flag, Circle Jerks etc

a bit of goth and deathrock too - 45 Grave, Bauhaus, Specimen, Miguel & The Living Dead, Cure, stuff like that

and also some other stuff like country/hellbilly (Hank III, pine box boys), blues, and all sorts.

i like also regular (old) punk and deathrock/goff. i have a hard time with psychobilly even tho Stray Cats and Cramps are two of my all time fave bands and they're vaguely tied to that scene. I dig some of it mind, old Meteors stuff is cool and King Kurt always puts a smile on my limbs. Much of it is a bit tuff cops for my taste.

my top non-horror groups is: Oingo Boingo, Devo, Cardiacs, Jake Thackray, 13th Floor Elevators, Wesley Willis... uh... i don't know what else...

Alkaline Trio, Green Day, The Gaslight Anthem, Hot Water Music, Samiam, Jawbreaker, Bouncing Souls, Tsunami Bomb, AFI...

Then there's...

AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper...

Then there's...

The Clash, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Cure, The Smiths...

To be honest, I could go on and on and on...

Haha sorry for such a silly post.

Psychobilly more than horrorpunk really  Embarassed
My favourite bands are AFI, Mad Sin, The Cure, The Meteors, DAG, Frenzy..
Lots of punk too. Really into the local punk scene.

i think theres a lot more going on in the psycho/rockin' scene than in the horror scene, especially in the UK.

if you like psychobilly and have a willingness to travel a little, you can find a gig on most weekends and even if you only go locally, theres a lot of monthly club nights/gigs on (like Mosh N Go in Sheffield, Good Wreckin' Tonight in Reading, Kreepers in Nottingham etc.)

whereas the horror scene is either just based locally around a couple of local bands, or a load of people waiting around for the big US or European names to come and play.

what we need is a monthly night based somewhere thats easily accessible for both punters and UK-based bands to travel to and play at...

I'm listening to The Birthday Massacre right now. I have a soft spot for really cheesy poppy industrial stuff. I really like Deathstars too.

Other than that, I mostly listen to goth really. Sisters of Mercy and The Cure and Joy Division and whatnot. I used to listen to loads of Black and Death metal too.

I've been known to spin a bit of Mayhem on occasion.  'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' is such a bleak album, it's awesome.

Don't mind a bit of Satyricon either... i am a broad church, musically speaking

I, for one, would not like to get Nathrakhed in my anus.

They do wonderful things though, such as sampling Blackadder and writing songs about quantum physics based eschatological theories. One of their songs is about Warhammer 40,000. They are the nerdiest people in the world ever. Their both really tiny as well, bless 'em.
